* Lack of standardized work, resulting in inconsistent product quality.

* Lack of documented work instructions, resulting in long new-hire ramp-up times, high on-the-job training costs and low new-hire retention.

* Failure of workers to follow proper safety procedures or identify workplace safety risks, resulting in lost-time accidents, increased insurance rates and exposure to fines.

* Poor worker-to-supervisor relationships, resulting in high turnover and low employee morale.

Luncheon presenters include: Daria Wielebinski ; Eric J. Esoda, executive director of NEPIRC; and Anthony Manorek, NEPIRC engineering and technology director. ESU’s Innovation Center is located at Brown Street and Route 447 in Smithfield Township , Pa. For more information, contact Daria Wielebinski at dwielebinski@esu.edu or 570-422-7952.
