The New Season Brings New Shows

As the fall season approaches, popular television shows are returning as well. Not only are shows coming back on the air for returning seasons but new shows are also premiering.

Fox television network is coming back this fall with a bang. Not only does it have many shows returning to the network but it is also making very anticipated series premieres of the new shows “Ben and Kate” and “The Mindy Project”.

Ben and Kate, which premieres on Tuesday, September 25th at 8:30 pm, will be starring Dakota Johnson as Kate Fox, a woman who got pregnant before graduating college, forcing her to drop out and put her life on hold, in this comedy it focuses on her life after the birth of her daughter Maddie and her brother Ben who moved in to help raise this 5 year old.

Making its premiere also on September 25th, at 9:30 pm is the new comedy, “The Mindy Project,” starring Mindy Kaling of the office.

Mindy is a successful OB/GYN who is trying to fall in love and have a happy ending like the romantic comedies she adores so much. While trying to get her personal life in order, Mindy is constantly bombarded with harassment from her colleagues and best friend who happens to be the governor’s daughter.

Returning for its second season also on the 25th at 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm is comedy “New Girl” starring the quirky Zooey Deschanel.

In the first season, Jess (Deschanel) needs a place to live after a heartbreaking breakup and ends up moving in with three guys who soon become like family. Nick, Winston, and Schmidt are her three roommates and along with Jess’ childhood best friend Cece the five of them take on life trials and tribulations together.

Also making its return to Fox are our old favorites, “Glee” and reality TV shows “The X factor” and “American Idol.”

NBC is also returning with a packed lineup for the fall season. Making its series premiere on Tuesday, September 11th at 9:30 pm, “The New Normal,” a controversial comedy, which stars Justin Bartha and Andrew Rannells focuses on a partnership between two men and their process in starting a family. They meet a desperate, single mom Goldie, played by Georgia King, who decides to become a surrogate for them.

Also returning on Tuesday September 11th, at 10:00 pm is hit drama “Parenthood.” Starring Lauren Graham of “Gilmore Girls,” Parenthood focuses on her struggles as a single mom with two teenagers. It also focuses on the struggles of her parents’ relationship as well as the events in her sibling’s lives. Also returning are “The Voice,” “30 Rock,” and “The Office”.

Highly anticipated shows returning to FX are, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “The League” and “American Horror Story.”

It’s Always Sunny makes it return on Thursday October 11th at 10:00 pm and The League premiere follows at 10:30 pm. Returning for its second season, American Horror story will be airing again beginning on Wednesday, October 17th at 10:00 pm.

ABC also has a lot of highly anticipated shows returning to the air this fall. On Sunday, September 30th, “Once Upon a Time” return at 8:00 for its second season. It will be followed by popular drama series “Revenge” at 9:00 pm.

These two shows were very popular on their debut seasons and are expected to be just as spectacular this fall with their returns. Also returning to ABC this fall is comedy “Modern Family,” which will make its season premiere on Wednesday, September 26th at 9:00 pm.

Whether you are interested in drama, comedy, horror, or reality TV, this fall television lineup is stacked with options on every channel on almost every night.
