Alpha Omicron Pi is one of the sororities here at East Stroudsburg University that is centered on raising awareness for Arthritis Research and Education. Alpha Omicron Pi will be volunteering this year at the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis on Saturday, December first.

The Run/Walk will take place at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA. Registration will begin at 7:30 AM, followed by a costume contest judging at 8:30 AM.

The opening ceremony will begin at 8:45 AM prior to the run/walk, which will then start at 9 AM.

Arthritis is continuously affecting millions of individuals around us and for the most part, goes unnoticed.

Arthritis is one of the nation’s leading disabilities, affecting roughly 50 million adults and 300 thousand children in America. If you are interested in participating in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk, you can register online at www.arthritis.org.

You do not have to do this alone; you can form a team to help raise awareness for arthritis by walking or running together and inviting family members, friends, or even your neighbors and co-workers to join.

Donations are always welcome and certainly appreciated, and a little bit goes a long way.

On behalf of all of Greek Life, it is important to us all that we show our support to those in need and do anything we can to help—whether it is fundraising, doing events or simply just donating.

The sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi have also recently teamed up with the brothers of Sigma Pi to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

It is our duty of students, especially to those of Greek Life, here at East Stroudsburg University, to come together and lend a helping hand whenever needed.

This is the season of giving and what better way to get into the holiday spirit then by showing your support for the Arthritis Foundation and joining the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi by participating in and volunteering at the Jingle Bell Run/Walk.
