Three Days Grace to Play at Sherman

Canadian rock band Three Days Grace is set to perform this Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA.

Three Days Grace hit the rock scene in 2003 with their self-entitled debut album, and are now reaching the final leg of their tour for their 2012 release Transit of Venus.

In December of 2012, original lead singer Adam Gontier, suddenly resigned from Three Days Grace in a letter from his lawyers, citing a “non-life threatening health issue.”  Gontier encouraged the band to “continue moving forward without him.”

Gontier’s final show was December 15, 2012, in Hartford, Connecticut, yet his bandmates and fans had no idea that this was the last time he would appear on stage with Three Days Grace.

To complete the already scheduled shows and keep fans from being disappointed, Three Days Grace bassist Brad Walst brought in a ringer – His brother, Matt Walst, lead singer of rock band My Darkest Days.

Matt Walst is only a temporary replacement for the band’s missing singer, and has been received by fans to mixed reviews.

In order to give fans a taste of the new singer, Three Days Grace released a preview of three songs recorded with Matt Walst on their Facebook page: “Riot,” “Chalk Outline,” and “The High Road.”

In between touring with Three Days Grace, Matt Walst is also keeping up with his obligations to My Darkest Days, by spending time in the studio recording their third album.  My Darkest Days member Sal Costa left the band this year, but the band plans to continue on as a foursome, without Costa.

Rumors have begun to circulate citing that Three Days Grace has found a permanent lead singer replacement for Adam Gontier, making this Friday’s show at the Sherman Theater one of the last opportunities for fans to see the band and Matt Walst together.

Tickets ranging from $25 – $550 are still available through the Sherman Theater website, www.shermantheater.com, or by calling 570-420-2808.
