On Thursday, September 19, East Stroudsburg University students marched from Kemp Library to the Riebman Administration building in protest to the possible retrenchment of faculty.
Around seventy students marched silently in response to an email sent to all students by Justin Amann, Student Senate President.
“The concerns surrounding retrenchment are complex and sensitive, and should be taken up in confidential meetings between the faculty union and the administration of ESU per the APSCUF contract before the final plan is made public,” said Amann.
No decisions on retrenchment have been made by the administration at this time.

With respect to Mr. Justin Amann’s worrying comments …
There’s no such thing as a “confidential” open meeting in the state of Pennsylvania. The only executive sessions allowed in PA involve specific INDIVIDUAL employees whose rights as an employee could be “adversely affected” by an open meeting.
Mr. Amann would be well advised to review Pennsylvania’s very standard Sunshine Act: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/WU01/LI/LI/CT/HTM/65/65.HTM
