The sweetest place in Stroudsburg

Although East Stroudsburg University provides a variety of dining options, with seven different locations to choose from, there is also a unique café nearby called Sweet Creams — hidden on lower Main Street in Stroudsburg.

The relaxing atmosphere of Sweet Creams can be felt even before diners enter the café.

In this relatively small establishment, it is not uncommon for only one or two tables to be occupied at a time — even during dinner hours.

It is this quality, along with the rustic, artistic décor, that gives diners a calm and laid-back experience. It is a sharp contrast to the typically loud and overcrowded family restaurants in the Poconos.

Sweet Creams has something enjoyable for all guests. Whether they are looking for a quiet place to eat on a date or to have a quick afternoon coffee break, customers young and old can enjoy the experiences and rich flavors that this café has to offer.

Upon entering the doors, diners get to view the main attraction of the café: the famous homemade ice cream.

Unique combinations such as ‘chocolate-covered strawberry’ and ‘salted caramel’ are commonly featured flavors. These flavors change periodically, but Sweet Creams also keeps the traditional flavors including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cappuccino, and sweet cream—a flavor that tastes exactly as it sounds.

Although the ice cream provides immediate temptation, customers would be missing out by not checking out the café’s full menu, which offers a wide range of items such as gourmet sandwiches, salads, pita pizzas and sandwiches, vegetarian options, desserts, and appetizers.

Featured on the cover of the menu, the gourmet sandwiches are made of inventive combinations with fresh ingredients.

The drink menu, which offers special beverages that can’t be found anywhere else in the area, is also notable.

The café makes espresso and cappuccino drinks with added ingredients such as cinnamon, cocoa powder, and their homemade ice cream in milkshakes and frozen drinks. Other hot, decaffeinated drinks, along with flavored Italian sodas are also available.

Family owned and operated, Sweet Creams has an attentive staff that prepares items with care and seems genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction.

A typical dining experience at Sweet Creams involves a quaint atmosphere with unique options that cannot be matched anywhere else in the area.

Just be careful not to stop by on Mondays, or after 4 P.M. on Tuesdays, when the café is closed.
