“March Madness” for some ESU students means deciding their living arrangements for the next school year.
With housing applications live from now until March 9, and room selections beginning March 11, students will face new processes and options.
For the 2014-2015 school year, students are no longer required to place a housing deposit, and off-campus and commuter students will not be placed on a waiting list if their applications are made by March 9.
To begin the process, students must visit http://myesu.esu.edu, log into their student portal, and click on the “Housing Application Link” located on the bottom left of that page.
Students then must click on “Apply Online” and be sure to choose “Fall 2014 Returning Student Application for Room Selection.”
Once this is complete, students can choose their roommates by navigating to “Roommate Selection” under “Room Selection.” Each roommate must choose each other for this process to work correctly.
Step two of the process, which includes actual room selection, is available from March 11 through 14, depending what room preference the student desires.
ESU reminds students that a meal plan is not required at University Apartments or University Ridge and that the University Ridge is open during break periods, allowing students who require housing during these times to remain there.
However, the current rate of $2,862.00 for the University Apartments may rise to $3,350.00 because the rooms are singles.
In addition to the application process and rise in pricing, students now have the option to live co-ed in University Apartments, the University Ridge, and Suites. Shared bedrooms will remain single gender.
Visit the Housing Office located in the Hemlock Suites for more information or for assistance in choosing a room.
