Do you fancy yourself a baker? Do you think you can make a pretty cupcake, or something so crazy it might never have been tried before?

Prepare your spatulas, because the flour is going to fly at the homemade cupcake contest next weekend at Dansbury Commons. Families and individuals are invited to share their recipes in the cupcake bake-off at this year’s annual Family Weekend.

Take a second to better your batter, fix that frosting, or submit an old family classic in the 2014 cupcake competition. Participants are asked to bring at least a dozen cupcakes and their recipe to be submitted for judging no later than 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27 to Dansbury Commons, which is located on the corner of South Green Street and Normal Street.

Don’t lose your sprinkles; there are three categories in which your cupcakes can win a prize.

These prizes will be awarded for the best tasting cupcake, the best appearance, and the most creative cupcakes. Ultimately, only one cupcake can be the best, making it the grand-prize winner. This cupcake will be honored by having its recipe added to the repertoire of desserts found at Dansbury Commons throughout the semester.

The actual judging of the cupcakes will take place at noon and will be a real sweet treat, so come down and watch. You may just end up with your own cupcake or a recipe to bake a creation of your own.

Entries are encouraged, and if you think you have what it takes to make the best cupcake on the East Stroudsburg University campus, then this is your opportunity to rise to the occasion.

For more information or any questions, contact the ESU Family Weekend Cupcake Contest Coordinator at (570) 422-3998.

Good luck competitors. Break an egg!
