On Thursday, November 20, CAB will host their bi-annual concert for ESU students and guests. This year, Los Angeles native Kid Ink was selected to tear up the Sherman Theater stage at 7:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now at the student complex of the Student University Center for $15 for students and $25 for guests.

Drawing inspiration from Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, and Swiss Beats, Kid Ink began learning how to construct beats and record tracks with after school music programs.

Kid Ink began his musical career at 22 years old under the name Rockstar and was able to stir some popularity. This grabbed the attention of DJ III Will, and he was signed onto his label when he changed his stage name to Kid Ink.

Under his new name, Kid Ink released four mix tapes and his first independent album, “Up & Away,” with moderate success. The tracks featured collaborations with Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, and Tyga.

In early 2013, Kid Ink announced he signed a recording label with RCA. Under this direction, he released his EP “Almost Home” in late May of 2013. With this release, his single “Money and Power” was featured in HBO’s “Hard Knocks” and in the video game NBA Live 14.

This year Kid Ink released his single, “Body Language,” off his yet-to-be-titled third studio album. This album is set to release in early 2015.

If you’re ready for a night of energetic, upbeat music from the one and only Kid Ink, then make sure to get your tickets now!
