Mobile means made for travel. That’s the idea behind Corq, the mobile application that keeps college students connected outside of the classroom.

No longer does finding student-friendly activities demand fumbling through lost emails, wandering halls, or following far-spaced bulletins for directions.

Available for free download on both Google Play and the App Store, Corq lets users discover engaging events on-campus and off-campus with just their Android or Apple mobile device.

The minimalist app design provides a simple interface intended for easy navigation. Simply sign in to the app with your ESU student account and explore opportunities offered within the local area.

Students can search for clubs or organizations directly, or separate events by category. Results can even be filtered by distance and transportation, or by perks like free food, giveaways, and course credit.

Corq doesn’t just keep students up to date on campus happenings while on the move; it helps them get there too. In addition to browsing events in a calendar-style list, users can view them as pinned locations on the integrated, Google-powered map.

Using your device’s GPS capabilities and detailed event descriptions, Corq can direct you to precise locations, like specific buildings or room numbers, rather than vague street addresses.

The app comes courtesy of CollegiateLink, a division of data-platform developer Campus Labs. CollegiateLink provides campus-connecting services for academic institutions across North America, hosting customized websites for over 250 member organizations.

The name Corq draws inspiration from the corkboard-style interfaces found on the homepages of each CollegiateLink website, including ESU’s own WarriorLink. The functionality of pinpointing local events further draws to mind the familiar bulletin boards found on most college campuses.

Developed for direct integration with WarriorLink, Corq offers a reliable and up-to-date description of events. Student and university organizations now have a modern method of sharing potential experiences with the campus community in real time. Changes in event location, meeting time, or occupancy status can be made available for participants more quickly than traditional methods of communication.

Mobile technology allows users to stay informed, but it also helps clubs reach out to prospective members. Applications like Corq can keep the student body informed about local happenings and provide outlets for students looking for something to do. Club meeting times can be posted where they will be accessible to interested students.

Corq events aren’t limited to the confines of the campus, either. Community activities and off-campus trips are listed as well, with transportation details in the descriptions. Events also include a share feature that allows users to post event info via social media outlets.
