On Thursday, February 26, East Stroudsburg University will be holding the Majors and Minors Fair. This event will take place in Rosenkrans from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM and refreshments will be provided.

According to one online source, half of all students entering colleges are unsure of what they want to do and enter as undeclared majors.

A range of 50 percent to 70 percent of students will change their majors while they are in college. Of those people, the average number of times that the major is  changed varies from 3 to 11.

This event will allow students an opportunity to discuss their possibilities. It is an opportunity to investigate new majors and learn about them from faculty and  representatives from a variety of majors at ESU.

Students will have the opportunity to ask general questions and receive information about degree requirements and career paths that are associated with a degree program.

There will also be information on internships and extracurricular activities associated with the degree program.

If choosing one major proves to be too difficult, there is the option of double majoring.

For some of the majors that will be represented at the Majors and Minors Fair, there will also be students available to answer questions.

Some of the departments attending will be art, athletic training, business management, computer science, digital media technologies, English, economics, leisure services, math, physics, theatre, and many more.

Mrs. Kelly McKenzie will be running this event. She is the advisor for students with an undeclared major or an interdisciplinary study.

She said that this fair will allow for student to interact with faculty in an “informal setting” and a “relaxed atmosphere.”
