Attention students! The Campus Activities Board (CAB) has released the headliners for ESU’s annual spring concert.

With a mix of pop and hiphop, MKTO is sure to be a blast!

“I’m really excited that they are the spring concert! I like their kind of music, and they are energetic, so I think it will be a great show,” said ESU senior Briana Magistro.

MKTO is a musical duo consisting of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller.

Kelley and Oller met in 2010 while filming the Nickelodeon television series “Gigantic,” in which their characters played best friends. Kelley also played the character Walt on ABC’s “LOST” in 2004.

Their debut single, “Thank You,” was released in January 2013, followed by the very popular single “Classic,” which was released in June 2013.

The music video for “Thank You” was released on YouTube via VEVO on January 4, 2013, and garnered over 500,000 views after two days.

As of today, “Thank You” has 12,617,421 views, and “Classic” has 46,560,139.

The letters MKTO represent the duo’s initials, and also the acronym of their album “Misfit Kids and Total Outcasts,” which became number one in Australia and number six in New Zealand. The album was released in 2014 and has 4.5 stars on iTunes.

MKTO opened for “The X Factor’s” Emblem 3 in 2013, as well as Demi Lovato during her world tour in 2014. They are now on their first headlining tour, The American Dream Tour, and one of their stops is the Sherman Theater.

On Thursday, March 26, MKTO and their opener, DJ LEGIT, are set to entertain ESU students and the community! The Sherman Theater’s doors open at 7:00 PM and the show begins at 8:00 PM.

Tickets are on sale now on the second floor of the University Center. Tickets are $15 for ESU students and $30 for guests. ESU students may buy up to two tickets with their student E-cards.

“I’m really excited about this show; I love them,” said Gina Canepa, an ESU junior and the head of CAB’s Concerts Committee.

She continued, “This is my first time organizing a concert, so I’m nervous but excited!”

If you’re ready to have a blast with DJ LEGIT and MKTO, buy your tickets before they sell out!
