Here’s a list of the best shows to watch on Netflix just in case you needed something to do over winter break:

The Walking Dead
Seasons Available: 5

This show is a horror drama series that follows characters during a zombie apocalypse. It deals with the extent of human cruelty, humanity as a whole and survival by any means.

Sons of Anarchy
Seasons Available: 7

A crime drama series, this show follows a motorcycle gang that brings murder and drugs to their city. They murder people without blinking an eye and justify very body they leave behind. It’s kill or be killed, right?

Dexter
Seasons Available: 8

Another crime drama series, but this one has a twist. It follows a serial killer that murders people he believes have escaped the law too many times. He’s a blood spatter analyst by day, and a sociopathic murderer by night. He thinks he’s doing the world a favor because he only murders the “guilty.”

Breaking Bad
Seasons Available: 5

This crime drama follows Walter White, a high school science teacher turned drug lord. After being diagnosed with lung cancer, he believes there is no way for him to pay his medical bills without selling drugs. Once he gets a taste of the power, he can’t turn back.

Daredevil
Seasons Available: 1

This is a Netflix exclusive that is based on Marvel’s comic book superhero character by the same name. A tragic accident that left him blind, but also gave him something extra that allowed him to have superhuman senses. He is on the mission to stop crime in his city.

How to Get Away with Murder
Seasons Available: 1

This suspense crime drama follows a lawyer and her law students committing crimes and getting away with it. Her students accidently murder someone and she helps them by turning the judge’s attention to a different suspect.

House of Cards
Seasons Available: 3

House of Cards is a political drama that follows a fictional President of the United States. He is nothing like any president I’ve seen before. He is corrupted, murderous and evil and the First Lady is not any better.

Arrow
Seasons Available: 3
A crime drama series that depicts DC superhero, Green Arrow. He is “on mission to save his city,” his words, not mine. He and his sidekicks help save a dying city. With crime extremely high and a police force that does not know how to handle highly trained criminals, Green Arrow and Team Arrow are the only choice the city has.

The Flash
Seasons Available: 1

This is a spinoff from Arrow. The Flash becomes the fastest person after being struck by lightning. After waking up from a coma that lasted months, he decides he wants to become a superhero. He stops pity crimes such as bank robberies, but he mostly stops meta-humans, which are people who also have superhuman powers, but use them for evil.

The Blacklist
Seasons Available: 2

A crime drama that follows FBI’s most wanted criminal as he becomes their most valuable criminal informant. Red, the informant, leads FBI agents to some of the deadliest criminals outside of himself.

Notable Mentions:

Gotham: See young Bruce Wayne deal with the death of his parents. This shows Batman as a boy and the crime in the city he grew up in.

Jessica Jones: Another Netflix exclusive following another Marvel superhero.

Grace and Frankie: A Netflix comedy series that follows two women as they find out that their husbands are gay lovers.
