This presentation is free andopen to the public, no tickets required.

Tom Jones wrote “The Fantasticks” in May 1960 with the help of Harvey Schmidt.

Originally meant for a summer theater at Barnard College, the play has become “the longest-running production in the history of the American stage and one of the most frequently produced musicals in the world,” according to a press release.

The two have enjoyed many successful shows on and off Broadway.

Recently, their first for-Broadway piece “110 in the Shade” was revived and is slated for a new Broadway production in April of this year.

For the last several years, Jones and Schmidt have been concentrating on smaller musicals in “new and often untried forms.”

“The Fantasticks” received an Obie Award and the Special Tony Award in 1992.

In 1999, Jones and Schmidt were honored with “stars” added to the Off-Broadway Walk of Fame outside the Lucielle Lotel Theater.

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet this prolific writer and catch this performance!
