ESU’s Men’s Basketball took on Lock Haven at Koehler Fieldhouse last Saturday.

ESU (19-6) hit nine three-pointers and jumped out to a 59-38 lead at the end of the first half en route to a 107-86 victory over Lock Haven (12-14).

Nick Giordano hit six of his seven three-point attempts in leading the Warriors with twenty points off the bench.

The Warriors fell behind by seven to start the game before scoring their first basket, but they continued to grind their way back into the game and ultimately overcame a slow start to notch their nineteenth victory of the season.

Rasheed Moore led the ESU starters with eleven points and recorded nine rebounds and two assists in twenty-three minutes of play.

Quindell Brice aided in the effort by contributing fourteen points off the bench.

Lock Haven was led by Brahieme Jackson and Dave Garcia, who scored fourteen points each.

Besides strong shooting performances from Jackson (5-7) and Ra’eese Hunt (6-7), Lock Haven struggled and finished the game shooting 22.7 percent from the three-point line.

Lock Haven tried to scrap their way back into the game with 48 second half points, but the Warriors answered every challenge that was offered and never relented the lead.

The Warriors gave their fans at Koehler Fieldhouse plenty to cheer about as seniors Will Brown, Wes Cherry, Jamal Nwaniemeka, and Dajon Todmann all contributed in their final home game.

Brown and Nwaniemeka started and combined to net 10 points, four assists, and five rebounds.

Cherry and Todmann added eleven points, five rebounds, and four assists off the bench.

As well as ESU shot the ball, they capitalized on Lock Haven’s inefficiency and forced 18 turnovers.

In doing so, the Warriors were able to prevent Lock Haven from being able to fight their way back into the game.

The Warriors are currently tied for the third seed for the upcoming PSAC Tournament with Bloomsburg University.

If ESU finishes the season within the top four of the conference, they’ll host their first round PSAC Tournament game on Saturday, Feb. 27.
