Are you a transfer student trying to catch your footing as a new student at ESU? Or are you simply looking for a way to get involved on campus, while learning what the Poconos has to offer?
The Transfer Student Union creates a way for ESU students to transition into college life in a fun and accepting way.
“TSU works closely with the Transfer Center and the Student Activity Association to coordinate events, programs and initiatives for transfer students to promote successful transition both socially and academically, as well as acclimate to the Poconos and the surrounding area,” says Madison Bohn, TSU President.
Going away to college or transferring to a new university can be stressful and intimidating.
“We hope that people will find comfort within the club,” stated Bohn. “This club can help you get to know others in the same position and hopefully fulfill friendships.”
The club became an official organization several weeks ago, though they had begun meeting during the Fall 2015 semester.
Bohn has high hopes for the future of TSU. Since it has only existed for one semester, the club will be able to do many more fun activities in the future once they obtain access to funding.
“We hope to work closely with the transfer department and getting new, and currently enrolled students, to come out and participate in this club,” Bohn stated, “we have recently gone bowling and have done other fun things!”
Do you ever get the craving for Dunkin Donuts, but feel too lazy to travel to the closest location yourself?
TSU is having a donut sale for those who would like to get involved and support the club.
Participants can order glazed, old fashioned or chocolate glazed donuts in either a half dozen, full dozen, 25-munchkin or 50-munchkin quantity.
Fill out an order form by April 13, and the donuts will be delivered to you Friday, April 15.
TSU currently has 56 members on Facebook, though a larger attendance at meetings would be greatly appreciated. The club meets every other Thursday in Stroud 316.
Everyone is welcome at the TSU, and there are absolutely no qualifications for those who would like to join!
“I hope this club will continue to grow and make an impact in people’s lives, and on campus,” stated Bohn.

The club’s next meeting is Today, March 31 at 3 p.m. in Stroud 316.
