Police Blotter for Sept. 22, 2016

A Note From the Editor

Each week, readers will see this portion of the news page filled with various crimes committed on campus by students.

These crimes are reported to the University Police Station and recorded by the officers. A staff writer is in contact with University Police weekly, and is able to obtain a list of these crimes. The writer then writes up the Police Blotter.

The crime log identifies students and the crimes they committed. However, The Stroud Courier’s Editorial Board voted last semester to omit all names included in the crime log.

It is important for the campus community to be aware of the occurrences of crime on campus, in order to better protect themselves.

University Police’s website states that their job is “to enhance the safety and wellbeing of the campus community by providing professional Police, Security, Health and Safety services and programs.”

“To perform our role; communication, collaboration and inclusion are essential in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy learning, living, and working environment.”

Check back weekly for an updated Police Blotter.
