Robin Stevenson is the sole graduate student on this year’s women’s field hockey team. Her experience and hard work is showing as her final season continues.

Stevenson has eight of the twenty-two total goals the team has scored on their opponents so far, the most of any of the lady Warriors.

Stevenson also earned PSAC player of the week after scoring four goals in the Warriors’ opening weekend against Merrimack and Stonehill.

“The PSAC and NCAA championships are obviously two of my favorite memories, but my experiences with my teammates and their families are by far the best, especially as a foreign player,” Stevenson replied when asked of her favorite ESU field hockey memory.

Stevenson is native to Harare, Zimbabwe and traveled to the United States to pursue a degree in exercise science, completing her baccalaureate program in the spring of 2016.

“I chose ESU field hockey because of my love for the game, and the coaches provided the opportunity for me to play at a higher level. I liked the goals of the program and the coaches,” Stevenson explains when asked why she chose East Stroudsburg in particular.

“I plan to find a job in my field of study and see more of America as well.”

With both a PSAC and NCAA championship under her belt, Stevenson finds herself hungry for more.

“I would love to repeat our successes from last year, that would be golden. Other than that, I hope to enjoy every moment out on the field with my team and cherish the opportunity to play at the collegiate level one last time,” Stevenson explained.

If you would like to see Robin Stevenson and the rest of the ESU field hockey team in action, their next home contest takes place on Saturday, Sept.24 against Kutztown at 1 p.m.
