The Beer House Café, located on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg, has been open since February 2016, and business has been on the rise. The menu ranges from coffees, teas, smoothies, baked goods, salads, soups, sandwiches and entrees.

The café also has a bar and over 300 cased craft beers to choose from. Owner, Chahrazed Chadli, created and designed each menu item herself, with each dish being made from scratch with fresh ingredients.

Chadli tries to get as much produce as possible from the local Josie Porter farms, whom she had connections with from one of her prior food service jobs.

Along with the fresh ingredients, the café offers many vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options as well. Chadli, who had lived in Philadelphia for several years, secured the rights from Philadelphia’s La Colombe Coffee Roasters to use their coffee to brew.

One of the most popular beverages on the menu is the Vietnamese iced coffee, which contains four shots of espresso alone. Chadli says this item menu is becoming “quite popular” among ESU students who need that extra boost to stay awake.

Chadli wanted to ensure that the café has only the best products, which is why she orders Colorado’s high-rated organic Teakoe teas. Before selecting the tea you want to order, Chadli suggests smelling them first so you can get a better idea of the flavor.

Another ingredient that makes the café’s menu unique is the use of finely aged cheeses, in fact, the most popular menu item is the chicken quesadilla made with sharp aged cheddar cheese.

There were some kinks that had to be worked out first, such as originally only having a panini press to make many of the menu items. However, since getting two grills, operations have been very smooth.

Chadli has said “business has been great since the February opening.”

She thinks this in part due to the café being unique for the Stroudsburg area. “I wanted to bring something cool to Stroudsburg, there aren’t many places in this area like this.”

Although the menu does have many vegan and gluten-free options, Chadli wants to make it known that there is something on the menu for everyone, not just this group of people. Chadli has a passion for food and loves to see people have positive reactions when eating at the Beer House Café.

Having worked in food services since she was 15, Chadli knows quite a bit about not only making food, but serving people as well.

“I love food; it’s all I do. Everybody eats, everyone can relate to it.”

She also wanted to make sure her staff is well trained and knowledgeable with the unique and sometimes changing menu. The menu has a variety of seasonal specials, with butternut squash and pumpkin being two ingredients that will be used in the upcoming weeks.

Chadli says she would like to make a pumpkin spice latte made with fresh pumpkin and possibly a pumpkin mousse. With all of these unique menu options, Beer House Café surely brings a new and fresh cuisine to the Stroudsburg area.
