The annual Pink Light Walk was held on Oct. 6.

The walk started at 6 p.m. on the lawn of Hoeffner Science and Technology building.

Informational booths began setting up their tables around 5 p.m. and were available to the public by 5:30 p.m.

Several different clubs at ESU attended the Pink Light Walk and had informational booths including Colleges Against Cancer, Pocono Medical Center, and the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania.

The lawn in front of SciTech was filled with students, alumni and residents from the East Stroudsburg Community.

Everyone was moving from booth to booth, some buying items that would support breast cancer research and grabbing brochures.

A number of people in attendance wore pink and a paper pinned to their back, naming the person they were walking for.

At the Pocono Medical Center table, they were giving away free t-shirts.

Many students were lined up to get their free shirt, but the Pocono Medical Representatives made sure that the first people to receive free t-shirts were cancer survivors They ran out of shirts quickly, but many students were able to get a pink t-shirt courtesy of the PMC.

Also at the PMC table there was a pink table cloth that people were signing for the Pink Light Walk.

Some people left messages to loved ones, and others just added their name.

The walk started later than planned.

Beginning at the Science and Technology building, everyone walked up normal street until they reached Smith Street. They made a right onto Smith Street and kept walking until they arrived at East Brown Street.

Finally, the group made one last right and ended at PMC a little before 7:45 p.m.

At the Pocono Medical Center, there were light refreshments provided for those that stayed at the Center after the walk.

The PMC also held a few raffles to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
