Gannon University’s senior forward Hamza Mourchid scored with 2:06 left in double-overtime to stun ESU’s Men’s Soccer team 1-0 last Saturday night at McConnell Family Stadium in Erie, Pa.

The loss means that the Warriors will not qualify for the postseason PSAC tournament this year.

The Golden Knights held the upper hand in two key offensive categories. Gannon outshot ESU 14-10 for the game.

The Golden Knights also held a 6-3 edge over the Warriors in penalty kicks.

ESU sophomore goalkeeper Will Boerema was valiant in defeat. In total, he made four saves and single-handedly kept the Warriors in the game.

Still, the Warriors had their chances to score.

In the last ten minutes of regulation, the Warriors were able to get off four shots. However, none of them found the back of the net.

The Warriors finished the season 7-8-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the PSAC.
