ESU’s Men’s Cross Country team placed sixth overall, and the Women’s Cross Country team placed seventh overall at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional last Saturday. The event was held at Cooper’s Lake Campground near Slippery Rock University.

The women’s team was led by junior Samantha Young. She finished in 23rd place and earned All-Region honors. That distinction was given to the student-athletes who finished in the top 25.

Junior Kaylyn West finished in 27th place.

Senior Lauren Toth capped off her collegiate career with a 48th place finish.

Senior Alec Lederer and senior Alex Zubko were the notable finishers on the men’s side. Lederer came in 28th place, and Zubko came in 30th place.

Lederer had a banner year in his final season on the team. Including Saturday’s NCAA Regional, he was the top finisher on the men’s team in five events this season.
