This past weekend for most was spent with family on Thanksgiving day and shopping with friends on Black Friday.

For many others, the most anticipated and memorable activity of the break was bingewatching the revival of “Gilmore Girls” on Netflix.

The series, written by Amy Sherman-Palladino, made its debut in 2000 and was a hit until its sudden ending in 2007.

“Gilmore Girls” captured the attention of its audiences through its heartwarming and witty storyline of a single mother raising an Ivy League-bound daughter, all the while surrounded by quirky neighbors and small town charm.

After an abrupt series finale in 2007, many fans were left confused and saddened by the way the story came to a puzzling close.

Alas, after years of waiting, “Gilmore” fans’ prayers were finally answered in the revival episodes of the series that streamed on Netflix on Nov. 25.

As a Gilmore fanatic myself, the revival definitely lived up to the hype.

I was amazed at how the setting of Stars Hollow, the crazy people of the town and the dialogue between the characters had hardly changed, as if the series never ended in the first place.

The best part of the entire revival was the last four words spoken by Rory to Lorelei, the main character of the show.

There will be no spoilers coming from me, but Palladino ended the revival as she always saw fit, in an even more shocking way than the original series finale.

I feel that ending the show in a cliffhanger that still leaves its fans wanting more of the Gilmores was the best way to go.

All in all, the “Gilmore Girls” revival brought as many tears, laughs and joy as it did to its viewers nine years ago when it aired its series finale.

I’m sure all fans are pleased with the reunion of its favorite characters even if we are still dreaming of the possibility of more episodes in the future.
