Some people feel worried about Donald J. Trump’s win because of his lack of political and military experience.

In spite of that concern, his supporters strongly believe and state that he will make the United States thrive. He will “Make America Great Again.”

International students here at ESU have their own thoughts regarding the election’s outcome.

“I can understand the reasons why people now go out to the streets to protest against Trump,” said Elisabeth Brunk from Germany, “Americans must have been shocked by that news. But the things he has planned to do are only words so far, therefore we need to wait and see what he will actually do to achieve his agenda.”

“I do not know who is better to lead the United States because I am not an American,” stated Mengchen Wang from China.

“But the most important issue for me as a Chinese nationality is the relationship between the US and China. I hope these two countries are able to work together positively by cooperating with each other,” Wang concluded.

“I’m concerned about the Japan’s safety. I just wish that another World War II won’t be happened,” said Naoki Hiraide from Japan.

“The Japanese expressly tried to avoid the world-warfare. So, Japan adopted Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution, which states that the Japanese people renounce war forever and the right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized,” Hiraide continues.

“Plus, a slew of industries in Japan might be attacked by Trump’s plans, especially automobile field. The United States could impose much more customs on Japan and it would be so many burdens to my nation,” Hiraide concluded.

ESU students are not sure about what will happen and how Trump’s future presidency will influence the world in the next four years.

That is why we all should keep our eyes on President-elect Mr. Trump’s next move.
