This Saturday, ESU’s Student Senate will conclude their Seventeenth Annual Teddy Bear Drive.

Throughout the month of November, Senate asked students to donate new or gently used teddy bears, stuffed animals and toys.

All of the donated goods will go to families with kids in need this holiday season.

The drive will culminate at 11 a.m. in the main lounge of the University Center.

Student Senate Vice President Keisha Kauffman will host the event.

This event will include holiday music, arts and crafts and a guest appearance from Santa Claus and his wife, Mrs. Claus.

During the event the donated toys will be distributed to Monroe County children in need.

“We’re expecting a turnout of around 50-60 kids and their families on Saturday,” said Andrew Kissling, President of Student Senate.

According to Senate, the goal of the event is to give these children the holiday that they deserve.

We got a lot of toys so far, and we have more coming in,” said Kissling.
