Time Flies at ESU

It is hard to believe that Halloween and Thanksgiving have already passed, and that Christmas decorations have taken over the shopping malls.

It feels as though the new school year has just begun, and the cold weather just kicked in.

Yet here we are, registering for the Spring 2017 semester if we haven’t done so already, and hoping we get the best classes and a prime schedule.

As a freshman, I honestly never pictured myself this far into college, or anticipated a university experience anything like what it has been.

Before starting, I imagined it would entail an impossible, never ending workload with professors unwilling to help.

However, as most will agree, this fear was rooted only in anxiety and could not be any further from the truth.

In fact, all of my professors are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and want the best futures possible for their students.

In addition, the people I have met in my first few months at college have become my closest friends in such a short amount of time. It’s as if I have known them my entire life.

Above all, as a freshman and a commuter student, I was worried about not fitting in or finding my niche.

However, I immediately found out firsthand that all students are able to find where they belong here at ESU, and are welcomed into anything they set their mind to.

As a college student, what more could you ask for?

If my next four years go by as fast as this first semester has gone, perhaps college will not be the scary experience I assumed it would be only a few months ago.

As the stress of finals week looms right around the corner, hopefully we can all be comforted by our positive experiences here at ESU, and also by the holiday movies, advertisements and decorations coming our way.
