“Elf”

This hilarious and festive film follows Buddy, who was accidently brought to the North Pole as a toddler and grew up believing he was an elf.

However, Buddy feels as though he does not belong at the North Pole and travels to New York in order to find his real father.

A DNA test proves that Buddy’s father is a stern and cynical businessman who reluctantly allows his son to be a part of his life despite all the chaos he brings.

“Miracle on 34th Street”

When the Santa Claus for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is found to be intoxicated, Kris Kringle takes his place for the day. After doing such a great job, he is hired for more jigs as Santa.

However, when Kris is asked to tell Susan, a little girl who has lost faith in fairytales, that he is not real, he refuses and instead claims that he actually is Santa.

A court case ensues in which Kris is tried for being mentally ill, and a lawyer named Fred must prove that Kris is actually Santa Claus.

“New Year’s Eve”

This movie follows the intertwining stories of multiple New Yorkers on New Year’s Eve, including a comic book illustrator who hates New Year’s, an aspiring singer, a man on his death bed, a police officer, the Vice President of the Times Square Alliance, two pregnant couples and many others.

With resolutions being made before midnight, elevators stopping, soon-to-be parents fighting over a bonus, a wish to live just to see the ball drop one last time and a whole lot of love, this movie is perfect for the Holiday season.

“Home Alone”

When Kevin McCallister acts out the night before a family vacation to Paris for Christmas, he is told to sleep in the attic. On the morning of their departure, the family sleeps in late, and in the scuffle and confusion they forget Kevin.

Kevin, waking up to find the house completely empty, believes that his wish for his entire family to disappear came true and enjoys his newfound freedom. However, a pair of burglars target the McCallister house and Kevin is the only one there to stop them.

With rigs and booby traps, Kevin intends to keep the burglars out of his home, and eventually succeeds in helping the police catch the two wanted criminals. When his family returns, Kevin is overjoyed that his wish did not actually come true.
