Wrestling Defeats Millersville 27-18

On Friday, Feb. 10, ESU’s Wrestling team hosted their final regular season home dual against Millersville at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors beat the
Marauders 27-18 on Senior Night.

Before the start of the dual, six ESU seniors were recognized for their contributions to the program.

At 125 pounds, ESU graduate student John Pellegrino lost a close decision to Millersville’s Connor Sheehan 8-9.

At 133 pounds, senior Connor Maliff defeated Millersville’s Aaron Wildonger by a 7-5 decision.

At 141 pounds, redshirt sophomore Dylan Nace defeated Millersville’s Keegan Worley by fall.

At 149 pounds, redshirt sophomore Blake Cohen defeated Millersville’s Shawn Jones by technical fall 16-1.

At 157 pounds, junior Christian Silva was defeated by Millersville’s Seth Decker 2-8.

At 174 pounds, senior Joey Kratochvil defeated Millersville’s Trent Cook by majority decision.

At 184 pounds, senior Tyler Richardson defeated Millersville’s Evan Morrill by fall.

At 285 pounds, junior Brandon Steele edged Millersville’s Zachary Yackenchick in a close 7-6 decision.

Unfortunately, the Warriors forfeited the matches at the 165-pound and 197-pound weight classes.

Nevertheless, ESU defeated Millersville 27-18 in its final home dual of the regular season.

Nace is ESU’s highest ranked wrestler heading into the NCAA Division II Super Region 1. Nace is ranked No. 3, and he will lead the Warriors at the NCAA
Division II Super Region 1 to be hosted at Mercyhurst University on Feb. 24-25.
