Advice Column: Fighting Fair

By Samantha Werkheiser

There have been many occasions in my life where I’ve said things out of spite or anger that I didn’t really mean.

This can end up driving people away.

Sometimes, you should proceed with caution when fighting with people, especially the ones you love.

Always try and speak your mind, but never try and purposely hurt the people you care about.

If you go into an argument intending to hurt the other person, then the relationship is probably not a healthy one.

The same goes if you’re on the receiving end.

Don’t stick around for someone who is always putting you down when they are mad at you, they clearly aren’t taking your feelings into account.

Respect is important in any relationship, whether it be a romantic relationship, friendship or family member.

So remember to always treat others how you would like to be treated, don’t say things out of anger.

Most of the time, you will end up regretting the things you say later.
