“Criminal Minds”

This show follows the behavioral analysis unit of the F.B.I. as they study, profile and capture serial killers across the United States.

Each episode usually introduces a new crime the team must solve while also focusing on the individual members and the problems in their own lives.

Though mainly ending on happier notes, every case will have you intrigued (and probably worried) as the team tries to profile the unknown killer and find the victim or victims whose lives are at stake.

“Prison Break”

This series shows the other side of the law through main character Michael Scofield and his intricate plain to break his brother, Lincoln Burrows, out of prison.

Placed on death row for a crime he did not commit, Burrows, and the people closest to him, try to figure out who exactly set him up and why.

But the deeper they dig, the more trouble they get in to, uncovering a huge web of government secrets, murders and power.

On the run from the law and the secretive agency that framed Burrows, Scofield soon realizes that he got himself into a whole lot more than he initially bargained for.

“Sherlock”

This show puts a modern spin on the detective series written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, following Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John Watson.

The pair solves various mysteries and crimes in the city of London, often being asked for assistance from the British government and regular people.

Holmes also has an enemy, Jim Moriarty, who seems, more often than not, to have a hand in the many crimes afflicting the city.

“How to Get Away with Murder”

This series follows Annalise Keating, a law professor at Philadelphia University and a criminal defense lawyer. Keating chooses five of her students to intern at her law firm, but soon all become involved in the murder of Keating’s husband and his mistress.

The group of six work together to cover up the truth about the murder and who really killed the two victims.

“Narcos”

This Netflix original tells the story of the rise and fall of one of Columbia’s most infamous drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Shown mostly through the point of views of Escobar and a United States DEA agent, Steve Murphy, the story of what turned out to be an all-out war is told.

The show captures the younger days of the drug battle and trail into the more violent portions associated with Escobar including the smuggling of kilos of cocaine and drugs over the borders of Columbia, Mexico and the U.S. by cartel members and the many deaths and murders that occurred over the almost two-decade war.
