In a dominant performance, ESU’s Men’s Basketball team defeated the Bloomsburg University Huskies 95-68 in front of the Koehler Krazies last Saturday.

With the win, the Warriors are the No. 3 seed in the PSAC East and will host an opening round game of the PSAC Tournament on Monday, Feb. 27.

Prior to the start of the game, Women’s Basketball assistant coach Marla Simmons sang a stirring rendition of our national anthem.

The game started out competitively. But with the game tied at 14, the Warriors went on a 30-14 run to end the first half.

The Warriors had a 44-28 lead at halftime and cruised to a 95-68 win.

Bloomsburg redshirt junior and PSAC Player of the Year candidate Christian Mortellite averages 23.2 points per game. He was also coming off a career-high 39 points scored against Mansfield on Feb. 15. But ESU’s defense put the glove on Mortellite limiting him to a paltry 15 points.

The Warriors were powered by senior forward Rasheed Moore’s 25 points.

Sophomore guard Ryan Krawczeniuk came off the bench to score 14 points, and Chris Bing recorded his third double-double of the season with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

As a team, the Warriors scored 34 points off turnovers. They also had 21 second chance points to only 3 for Bloomsburg. Moreover, ESU’s bench outscored Bloomsburg’s bench 42-21.

Following Senior Night on Wednesday, ESU (17-8, 15-5) will end their regular season at Mansfield University this Saturday.
