Donald Trump and Saturday Night Live (SNL) have had a tumultuous relationship from the very beginning.

So it is no surprise to see President Trump confronting the comedy show on multiple occasions, especially on Twitter.

In recent weeks, SNL has been receiving even more attention regarding its mockery of not only President Trump, but also a few of his cabinet members.

One of the portrayals of a member of the Trump Administration is Press Secretary Sean Spicer played by actress Melissa McCarthy.

SNL’s skit on Sean Spicer include digs at his attitude toward the media, the travel ban and in most recent upheavals, Nordstrom opting to drop Ivanka Trump’s fashion line.

As a result, President Trump has ridiculed SNL, obviously taking the comedy sketches way too seriously.

SNL has in no substantial way damaged the image of Trump, more so than his own actions have contributed to his already rocky relationship with Democrats.

If anything, SNL allows Trump protestors to laugh. It allows individuals a comic relief from the world of politics.

SNL’s skits allow people to laugh at what they would consider an otherwise humorless situation.

Perhaps the most recent episodes of SNL have devoted so much airtime to the President because he, albeit unintentionally, gives them so much material to work with upon each passing week.

President Trump should enjoy watching so much attention being devoted to him.

Attention from the public, especially comedians, is something all presidents and public figures have had to deal with in the past. If it is not enjoyble, just ignore the show altogether.

At the end of the day, comedians on SNL are just doing their job, and President Trump should do the same.
