Bloomsburg was where Warriors belonged last Sunday as ESU’s Men’s Soccer team beat the Bloomsburg University Huskies 1-0 behind junior forward Eddy Enowbi’s goal at Steph Pettit Stadium.

On Monday afternoon, the PSAC announced that Enowbi was named the PSAC Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week.

The Warriors are riding a hot streak that has seen the team win six out of its last seven games.

With the win, the Warriors are in fourth place in the always competitive PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference). The top six teams will advance to play in the PSAC Tournament at the end of the season.

Enowbi’s goal came in the eighth minute of the game, and junior goalkeeper Will Boerema and the Warriors shut out the Huskies for the rest of the game.

The Warrior defense was outstanding. Although the Huskies managed seven shots in the first half, only one of them was a shot-on-goal.

The Warriors muzzled the Huskies after halftime as Bloomsburg was not able to get off a shot in the entire second half.

ESU held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks and forced Bloomsburg redshirt-junior goalkeeper Taylor Lesage into making four saves for the game.

The Warriors (9-3-1, 6-3) will be on the road to face the Seton Hill Griffins (8-6-1, 5-4) next Sunday.
