Men’s Wrestling is Finishing the Season Strong

The East Stroudsburg men’s wrestling team find themselves in the top 25 in the 2020-21 NCAA division two preseason rankings.

The Warriors are currently sitting at the 17th spot and is one of five ranked teams in the Pennsylvania state Athletic Conference that are ranked, they’re also coming off a great 2019-20 season.

Last year Michael Raccioppi and Elliott Riddick Qualified for the NCAA Division two national tournament held in Cleveland, OH but due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the tournament was canceled.

Very shortly after weigh-ins, so the duo did not get to complete for the individual national titles, but the NCAA did Grant both men all American honors.

Michael Raccioppi 174-pound wrestler finish the season 22-1 and had an undefeated dual meet record of 11-0 and had notable wins against Junior brock Biddle from Pitt- Johnstown who was number one in the nation, Raccioppi finish second at the Super Region 1 tournament to qualify for the national tournament.

Elliott Reddick, 184-pound wrestler, finished the season 16-1 and had a dual meet record of 9-0 he had wins over number two Connor Craig of Pitt- Johnstown and was ranked number one going into the national tournament the only blemish on Reddick’s record came from division one Travis Stefanik of Princeton University in Ultimate tiebreaker at the East Stroudsburg Open.
