Spring 2023 Schedule for WESS 90.3 FM Radio

The WESS radio station is back on 90.3 FM offering the best music, talk show, sports, and educational content made by ESU students and for students. Every DJ at the station offers something different, and the schedule spread allows listeners to enjoy the radio all throughout the day alongside the BBC Broadcast Service. Here is the current schedule of regular, diversified radio shows broadcast throughout the week:

Mondays

“Espresso Thoughts” by DJ Java

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

DJ Java serves up some light-hearted conversations with flavorful tunes in between.

 

“Fore Philly Sports” by DJ Maddy Fore & DJ Daryn

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Weekly talk show for updates and personal thoughts on all the latest news in the world of Philadelphia sports.

 

“Fixation Station” by DJ Space & DJ Razz

12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The two cohosts choose one word/concept and build a collaborative playlist that flow between all sorts of genres.

 

“The Spins” by DJ Pancakes

3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

An hour of the newest pop country hits.

 

“All Sounds Considered” by DJ James Maroney

4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A two-hour variety block of sounds from folk to post modern, hits to deep cuts, and music to stand-up comedy.

 

“Rockin’ With the Classics” by DJ Matthew

6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tracks covering the discographies from all the classic rock greats, including big hit singles, deep cuts, and B-sides of their careers.

 

“Space Rock” by DJ Jackson

8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

An eclectic mix of alternative and modern rock, filled with famous favorites and hidden gems of the underground music scene.

 

“Joe Frank” & “Not the BBC You’re Looking For” by DJ Bad Example

10 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The first hour a unique syndicated talk show, the second hour a mix of music throughout the decades.

 

Tuesdays

“One More Cup of Coffee” by Geoff the DJ

8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Easygoing indie rock, folk, and acoustic singer-songwriter tracks for a nice, quiet morning.

 

“Lost in Space” by DJ Space

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

An exciting hour-long blend of pop, electronic, hip-hop, and soundtracks.

 

“Warrior Talk” by DJ Kobe

12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

DJ Kobe hosts a casual talk show with fellow ESU students on campus life, local events, and much more.

 

“Movie Soundtracks” by DJ Ty Stanley

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A two-hour long collection of the best songs movie soundtracks have to offer, with themes that change by the week.

 

“Tatakae Tuesday” by DJ Space

4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A block featuring songs from J-pop, Vocaloid, and original soundtracks for the anime-loving crowd.

 

“Deviant Sets” by DJ Zeke

6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

From hair metal to R&B to darkwave, you never know what the weekly theme will be during this hour-long music block.

 

“The Wolfe Den” by DJ Wolfe

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A mix of modern pop, punk, metalcore, and alternative rock jams for some late night listening.

 

“Your Pocono Alternative” by DJ Isaac

9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Delving into the indie rock subgenre to find some great songs from underground artists both old and new.

 

Wednesdays

“Novel Radio” by DJ Oliver

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Going over classic pieces of literature with intermittent musical tracks that fit each story, usually of the classic rock, indie, or classical variety.

 

“The Treehouse Sessions” by DJ Squirrel

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Electronic, pop, and remixed songs are featured in this vibrant two-hour block.

 

“Rhino’s Rock Block” by DJ Rhino

4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Features an hour of lesser-heard rock bangers from the alternative and progressive subgenres.

 

“Girls Gone Granola” by DJ Icebear

5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The best of indie pop, folk rock, and modern soft rock perfect for an outdoor hike.

 

“College Kid Nostalgia” by DJ Wolfe and DJ Space

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

With a new guest each week providing their own playlists, the DJs comment on the songs they grew up with.

 

“DJs of the Roundtable” by DJ Isaac

9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The DJs of WESS (and sometimes some special guests) show up for a lighthearted talk show on a number of random topics.

 

Thursdays

“Revolution Vinyl Collection” by Geoff the DJ

8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

With regular guests, the DJs of WESS spin some of their favorite vinyl and comment on the influence they’ve had on themselves or the music industry as a whole.

 

“Scream Therapy” by Jason Schreurs

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A syndicated podcast featuring interviews with different punk and alternative artists on how they manage mental health.

 

“Talking About Talkies” by DJ Matthew and DJ Nick

12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

A talk show between the two co-hosts on the latest film news and reviews.

 

“There Once Was a History” by DJ Matteo

1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

DJ Matteo explains major historical events as entrancing narratives accompanied by musical ambience.

 

“Fidelity Mountain” by DJ Devin and DJ Mick

3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The two co-hosts pick B-sides of their choice to review and analyze, spurring conversations on the artists and discographies as a whole.

 

“Whole Lotta Fuzz” by DJ Rawle

6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

DJ Rawle showcases the fuzziest performances from a number of garage rock and blues bands.

 

“Crunch!” by DJ Isaac and DJ Icebear

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Two co-hosts create two different playlists independent of one another and react to the others’ song choices.

 

“The DJ Keyz Hour” by DJ Keyz

9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

One hour of instrumentals and tracks for easy late-night listening.

 

Fridays

“Blues Hound” by DJ Dr. Rozea

8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Two hours of blues rock for early morning drives.

 

“The Kemp Theatrical Revue” by DJ Oliver

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A talk show where DJ Oliver reviews the cataloged performances from Kemp Library’s theatrical collection.

 

“The Huddle” by DJ Daryn

1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

DJ Daryn fronts his own talk show on major sports news and current events.

 

“Vintage Radio Hour” by DJ Sadie

2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

An hour-long throwback into our decades-old catalog of old for some classic music blocks and radio dramas.

 

“New Music Friday” by DJ Rhino

4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Showcasing the newest singles from all sorts of artists both mainstream and underground.

 

“Did You Find the Milk, Dad?” by DJ Amethyst

5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A variety block of modern pop and hip-hop to throwback classics mixed in with a talk show structure.

 

Saturdays

“Alternating Currents” & “Jazz for the Common Man” by DJ Steve Krawitz

8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A morning talk show with a mix of instrumental and jazz tracks to start off your day.

 

Sundays

“Pop Rock Sundaes” by DJ Rhino

10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Presenting a blend of pop rock, electronic, and singer-songwriter songs for softer mornings.

 

“Heavy Metal Retrospective” & “UFO Talk Radio” by DJ Dr. Leon

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

An energized late night block with featured tracks from extreme metal greats both old and new alongside heavy discussions on them.
