On Friday, Dec. 2, ESU’s Student Senate hosted an Ugly Sweater Party.

It began at 6:00 p.m. in the University Center. The party was held in Commuter lounge on the second floor of the Union.

The lounge was decorated with holiday decorations that included a Christmas tree and decorative Holly.

They were playing cheerful holiday music to help put students in a festive mood.

There were also light refreshments, that included chips with guacamole and salsa and coffee.

Kristen Flannigan, a junior and Art and Design major at ESU, was busy decorating her ornament when she said, “It’s nice to have something fun to do, and it’s very festive.

Only around 30 students attended but they all fit comfortably into the commuter lounge.

Many of the students were working on creating their own ornaments, while waiting to take a picture with Santa in the photobooth.

Brithney Campbell, a junior and biology major at ESU said, “I really like the Christmas spirit of this event and I definitely plan on taking a picture with Santa.

Also in attendance to the event was Princess Anna from Frozen, an elf, and Mrs. Claus. Princess Anna went from student to student, asking them about their hopes for the holidays and talking about her life as a Princess.

Later in the night, she sang songs from the movie Frozen, along with the students. She was also available to take photos in the photobooth.

Taylor Lannick, a junior and Public Health major said, “There’s more things to do here and I think it’s better than the previous events. I especially love the photobooth.”

Overall, the event was a success.

The students that attended loved meeting the different characters available, singing Frozen songs with Princess Anna, and left with a newly decorated ornament and photos from the photo booth.
