Pickle lovers, foodies and anyone looking for a fun fall outing have a reason to mark their calendars. The 6th Annual Pickle Me Poconos Festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 12 to 5 p.m. on Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg, about a 10-minute walk from East Stroudsburg University. Admission is free.
This festival promises a unique experience for anyone interested in all things pickled. According to the Pocono Chamber of Commerce, more than 130+ vendors will be on site, offering everything from pickle soda and fried pickles to pickle cotton candy, pickle ice cream and even pickle lemonade.
Other items on the menu include pickle muffins, pickle hot dogs, pickle mac and cheese, pickle burgers and pickle sunflower seeds.
The festival isn’t just for pickle enthusiasts, however. Vendors also will feature other pickled vegetables, salsas, spices and a variety of crafts. Attendees can find both savory and sweet options, making it a treat for all tastes.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, The Who Knows Band will perform live music throughout the day. For the first time ever, there will be a pickleball court in the middle of the festival. There will also be small stage in the kids “gherkin garden area” featuring family friendly comedy, a pep band, a dj and a princess cabaret.
The festival also will feature a beer garden serving local craft beers and wine for attendees 21 and older. Families are encouraged to attend, but only adults will be permitted in the beer garden.
Steamtown will also be bringing a train to deliver attendees to the festival after a beautiful train ride
“The festival is designed to celebrate the community, support local businesses and offer a festive atmosphere in downtown East Stroudsburg. Students from ESU and visitors from surrounding areas are encouraged to attend,” said event organizer Sierra Lefurgy.
The festival highlights vendors’ creativity, with offerings that go beyond traditional pickles. From savory dishes to sweet treats, there is something to surprise even the most experienced pickle lover.
Whether you want to try pickle ice cream, browse local crafts or enjoy live music, the Pickle Me Poconos Festival offers a unique, family-friendly experience. With a wide variety of food options, local drinks and entertainment, the festival is expected to be a highlight of the fall season in East Stroudsburg.
