The first day of the fall semester for East Stroudsburg University (ESU) began on Monday, Sep. 25. The academic day starts at 8 a.m., where a great number of students claim a spot in the parking lot.
Yet, student drivers from previous semesters have an idea that the first two weeks of the semester get hectic, especially around 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Think about the commuters, primarily the students who are freshman or transfers. The individuals who haven’t gotten the opportunity to experience the university. When they enter in their GPS’s ESU’s directions, the GPS lands them in front of the university as their destination.
However, how are they supposed to know where the parking lot is when the GPS carries this out?
This issue could be addressed by adding a signpost on Prospect St. with an arrow labelled ‘Commuter Parking’.

This sign would be pointing toward the turn to Normal St. so that commuters are appointed to the general direction of the other signpost within ESU. The mentioned individuals would be headed to the first C parking (23 on the map) between Dansbury Commons (19) and the Utility Plant (17). Commuters take the left turn from Normal St. on to South Green St. to arrive at their destination, the Upward Bound Center (285 Normal St.).

Yes, it might not solve the problem where each individual gets a parking, but it could speed up the process of them finding their way. Mainly on the first day of school, this signpost is capable of uniting commuters with the feeling of being closer to ESU.
A post sign allows individuals to be firm in their direction. Then, in two weeks’ notice will their wisdom inspire them to arrive early and claim a parking spot throughout the semester.
