Mattioli Recreation Center offers numerous workout classes structured to help students stay active, manage stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle. From yoga and pilates to intense core-training and cycling, these classes provide opportunities for students to stay active and have a balanced lifestyle.

Yoga is an option available for stress to be relieved and relaxation. Classes typically focus on stretching, breathing techniques, flexibility and balance. Yoga can also provide students with an opportunity to unwind from academic responsibilities and manage stress.

Pilates is another class offered at the fitness centers. This style of exercise improves core strength, balance, focused breathing, stability and controlled movements.

“I love looking forward to the 6:30 Pilates classes because I know at the end of a long day, I get to see my friends and have a good time while also bettering myself,” says Keira Lazzaro, a second year student.

Indoor cycling classes provide another option for cardiovascular exercise. Individuals ride stationary bikes while instructors guide them through changes in speed and resistance. Music and group participation can help create an energetic atmosphere that encourages students to remain motivated throughout the session.

The Mattioli Recreation Center also offers core stability & mobility and line dancing. These classes give participants opportunities to explore different forms of movement and find activities that match their interests and fitness goals.
