The Warrior Elite is seeking new students to be a part of their organization at East Stroudsburg University.
Formerly known as the Student Ambassador Program, The Warrior Elite renamed their organization in 2011 and started from the ground up. In the fall of 2012, the Warrior Elite became an officially recognized organization on campus. They currently have 14 members, but with several nearing graduation, they are pursuing new members.
The Warrior Elite is a volunteer group of exceptional undergraduates who act as ambassadors to the University and the ESU Foundation. Their mission is to be committed to the development and support of programs and activities that instill a sense of pride and tradition within the ESU community.
The Warrior Elite encourages positive interactions among students, alumni, and guests of the university as well as support a sense of school pride and school spirit. Members routinely attend campus events and participate in Spirit Fridays as a way to support the school and promote school spirit.
As ambassadors to the university, The Warrior Elite positively represent the student body. They can be found assisting at special programs such as Commencement, Homecoming, The Alumni Awards and Reunion Banquet, The President’s Gala, The Legacy Family Brunch and many other high class events.
Not only does the Warrior Elite assist at special campus events, they have also participated in several “spirited” events and programs that enhance the betterment of ESU and the surrounding community.
The Warrior Elite created a “spirit station” at the last Warrior’s football game of 2012 where they offered free face paint to attendees. They took spirited family photographs during Family Weekend and participated in Community on the Quad in 2012.
The Warrior Elite currently participates in the Adopt-A-Block program, where they do a monthly clean-up of a street near campus and participates in the Buddy Program with the International Student Organization. Members are assigned a “buddy” who is an international student and help acclimate their “buddy” to ESU and the Pocono region.
The Warrior Elite has attended the CASE-ASAP conference in 2012 and 2013. By attending this conference, the Warrior Elite has connected with other ambassador programs at District 2 schools and learned new ways to improve their organization and enhance student involvement. In only their second year of attending, The Warrior Elite has won two awards, including Outstanding Internal Program and Outstanding Advisor. The Warrior Elite is always looking for new ways to spread school spirit and make their organization the best and most sought after organization on campus.
Students interested in joining the Warrior Elite can fill out an application at www.esualumni.org/apply4warriorelite.
The selection process also includes an interview and new members must be in good standing with the university and have a minimum 2.8 GPA. Applications are due by April 11th. Those accepted will begin their membership in the Fall 2013.
