ESU’s Campus Activites Board (CAB) has a lot of upcoming events planned for this semester.
In October, they will be hosting Ghost Fest, where students can experience the hauntings of campus buildings such as Shawnee Resident Hall, the Fine and Performing Arts Building, and the Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts. This will be held around 11 PM.
On October 12, CAB will be holding a trip to Six Flags, instead of the annual trip to Dorney Park.
On November 4, CAB will be hosting a CoffeeHouse event featuring Sarah Myles playing the guitar. Kacey Jennings, a member of the CoffeHouse committee, mentioned that a possible performance by Christian Porter could take place in November—although this performance has not been finalized.
On November 23, CAB will be holding their annual New York City trip in order for students to see the Christmas Spectacular show at Radio City Music Hall.
CAB also gives students the on-going opportunity to vote every month on their favorite movies that they want to be played on Channel 12 in the residence halls.
ESU’s Family Weekend, an annual event organized by CAB, will take place October 18 – 20.
During family weekend, there will be a Planetarium Show, a Classic Car Show, a LizTech Jewelry Exhibit, face painting, and other events for students and their families to participate in.
CAB will also be debuting Chroma Crystals. From 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, October 19 in the University Center, students and their families will have the opportunity to create a family photo within a crystal-like statue.
CAB has put together a variety of events for students to enjoy this semester.
Michelle Canepa, a member of the Out & About committee, welcomes any new event ideas that students might have. “We want to give the students what they want,” said Canepa.
If anyone has some new event ideas that they want to suggest they can attend a meeting.
CAB has open meetings every other Tuesday at 2pm in the Shawnee Lounge.
A student can also drop by the CAB office located in room 214 of the University Center.
