On, February 11 East Stroudsburg University’s Club Fair was held inside the Keystone Room from 2PM to 4PM.
There were a variety of clubs participating in the event including the Sociology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice Club, WESS Radio Station, College Republications of East Stroudsburg University, Campus Activities Board, Anime Club, and more.
The Club Fair is a way for students to be introduced to the many clubs on campus. It helps to push students to sign up for things that interest them.
Not only does participating in clubs allow students to build their resumes but it also gives them a chance to be actively involved in the ESU campus and surrounding community.
“I think the layout for the set-up area was great. There was plenty of room for people to flow between booths” said Amanda Woods. Woods is a communication studies major at ESU and was representing both Public Relations Student Society of American (PRSSA) and WESS 90.3FM at the Club Fair.
“However, I don’t think it was successful because not enough clubs participated, nor did enough people attend. In the future I would suggest more and earlier advertising of the time, date, and location of the fair,” continued Woods.
Lindsay McGill, President of the Sociology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice Club stated “It was great to talk to other students. There were many people who attended that seemed to be interested in the sociology, social work, criminal justice club.
“I think it was better during the fall semester because it was outside so more students were able to see it. Unfortunately, many students did not know about this semester’s club fair so it was not as successful as it was intended to be.”
There were no signs outside the Keystone Room to show that there was a Club Fair going on inside, nor were there any postings about it on ESU’s website.
“I didn’t even know there was a Club Fair this week,” said Summer Smith, a Junior at ESU studying Art and Design.
