Are you a commuter? Are you stuck on campus all day, part of the day, or for a couple hours more than you would like?

Well, here are a few things on and around campus that can keep you busy with that extra time you have!

Utilize the campus gym in between classes and work out!

Whether you’re playing a basketball game on the court or using the equipment or indoor track on the second floor of Matolli (Rec A), it’s a healthy and smart way to pass the time.

The Union is a great place to kill some time as well.

You can grab some food and sit at the table and couches to relax, catch up on homework, or eat with a few friends.

If you’re a Starbucks lover, you’re in luck because in the middle of the Union, right near the couches, there is a Starbucks stand waiting to make you a grande coffee!

Do you have enough time to leave campus but want to stay in the area?

On Main Street, there are a lot of places where you can eat and shop if you want something other than campus food.

The restaurant, Sweet Crèmes, is personally my favorite. It is located on Main Street across from KFC.

It’s small and quiet with wonderful food, and is reasonably priced for people who don’t want to spend a lot. Try one of their ice cream sundaes for a real treat!

One last suggestion is to use your time wisely.

If you know you’re going to be on campus all day, then maybe bring work from other classes to do.

We have a wonderful library as well as numerous computer labs located in pretty much all of our buildings. This, in my opinion, is the best way to kill time and even get ahead.

Not only are there stores on Main Street, but there is an entire mall not too far from campus.

It would take you a few minutes to get there and you can either go shopping or check out the food in the food court over there!

Waiting between classes might be a downer for those who commute and feel that they don’t have much to do, but there is actually a lot you can do to help move your day along quicker.

There are plenty of different places to visit and things to do to pass time while waiting for class.

Don’t let it turn you into a downer. Utilize your time well and make it work for you!

Make down time on campus a positive thing, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, working out, or getting some homework done.
