There’s an app for that. There’s an app for music, cameras, social media, games and just about anything you can imagine. Apps are simply there for your convenience.

Isn’t convenience and simplicity what we all love? Now turn on your TV and search for a specific show you want to watch, or skip to the high channels to find a music station you enjoy. Annoying?

The new Apple TV features simplicity and convenience using apps. Apple is calling it, “the future of television.”

As we all know, TV is a big part of our lives. Some of us don’t watch TV but most of us watch too much.

According to nydailynews.com, an average American over the age of two spends more than 34 hours a week watching live television, plus another three to six hours watching taped programs.

“It all starts by recognizing that apps are the future of television,” says Apple.com. There are apps for HBO NOW, WatchESPN, Netflix, Hulu, iTunes and more.

This TV is run on a new operating system called tvOS, which includes innovative ways to connect with your screen and allows you to ask Siri to search for something to watch, rather than having to type every letter old Nokia flip phone style.

Some of us have smart TVs, and others just have the basic flat screen.

Those with the basic flat screen most likely have a Blu-ray player or a game system hooked up to it to allow the user to put on Netflix or Hulu. Now, with the Apple TV, those apps are already on your TV.

A new Siri Remote will control the Apple TV allowing users to tell the TV exactly what they want to watch.

The remote version of Siri will automatically search across popular service like iTunes, Netflix, Hulu and more, so you don’t have to dig through each app individually.

Another feature the Siri Remote includes is the swipe.

At the top of the remote, there is a space for you to use your thumb to scroll, select and navigate your TV screen effortlessly. It should give you the same feel as scrolling through your smart phone or tablet.

The TV shows and movies are what the Apple TV is about, but games are a big feature as well.

Users are able to play games on their huge screens rather than the small screens in their hands.Apple felt as if the “technology love” is focused on small screens, and not so much on big screens.

According to Apple’s website, “with the new Apple TV and tvOS, a redesigned interface, and the Siri Remote, there’s never been a better time to be a TV.”

For more information on the new Apple TV, you can visit apple’s website at apple.com, open the Apple app in your phone, or just give them a call. There are accessories and other items to go along with your Apple TV that are sold separate. The new (4th generation) Apple TV starts at $149 for 32GB and $199 for 64GB.
