Each week a Disc Jockey from East Stroudsburg University’s radio station, 90.3 WESS, is selected as DJ of the week for their exceptional performance and hard work on the air.

This week’s DJ of the Week is Shane Adamson for his radio show Rush Hour Sports.

Adamson is from Bristol, Pennsylvania and is currently a senior at East Stroudsburg University.

He is currently in his fourth year at ESU and he is pursuing a degree in Communication, with a track focus in broadcasting as well as fulfilling a minor in Communication.

His radio show, Rush Hour Sports, is a program devoted to all things sports talk.

Adamson, along with co-host, Shane Tyler Rice, focus on popular, in season sports and leagues, like the MLB, NFL or NBA, but the two hour program allows for talk of other sports like tennis and soccer as well.

His inspiration for the show stems from the founder of the program, Cory Nidoh, a former WESS DJ and Station Manager who pulled Adamson onto the program before graduating in 2014, and Adamson has continued the program in his honor.

“I was fathered-in by Cory Nidoh and in his honor I kept the show alive doing it for the past three semesters with Tyler,” Adamson said.

His future goals are to secure a career in sport broadcasting, either as live, play by play announcing, or to foster an FM sports talk show on the radio.

Adamson’s favorite aspect about being a part WESS is the freedom granted to students when it comes to production and content.

As student-operated media with a station format known as “diversified” WESS pushes members to be creative and to focus their content on the topics they want to talk about it.

He is also thankful for the friendship’s fostered through his time at WESS, like with his co-hosts like Tyler Rice and Greg Curtis, the co-host his show Hang and Bang.

Listeners can catch Shane Adamson’s show, Rush Hour Sports on Tuesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. on 90.3 WESS via the radio, or they can stream WESS over the web at tunein.com/radio/WESS.

For those who cannot listen to his show at their original time can listen to internet podcasts of the show by going to Radiofreeamerica.com and searching WESS.
