Didn’t make it to Dansbury on time or looking to switch things up? There are some great places just steps away from campus. There’s a variety of off campus options close enough to enjoy.

Wawa’s location to campus and its 24-hour services are what make it one of the most successful establishments around campus.

Not only does Wawa have a variety of options to choose from in regards to meals, they also sell chips, candy, drinks, and more. Wawa is a convenience store with a lot to offer.

Wawa offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options. You have the option to create your own bowl, sandwich and quesadilla. The options are endless.

“Wawa is very convenient whether it’s at 10 in the morning or 12 at night,” said Jen Palotta.

Not only is Wawa extremely efficient with their customer service but also they are quick to get your order out.

Looking for a place to kick back and relax while enjoying televised entertainment and quality food? Trackside Bar & Grill has it all.

Not only is Trackside known for their wing nights on Wednesdays, they are also known for being a great stop to grab a few drinks at the bar and watch professional sports and such.

If you’re looking to walk in and sit down right away, avoid Wednesday nights at all costs.

Trackside is known for their delicious wings but it will be jam-packed all night.

“If you don’t get there by five o’clock, you’re going to wait at least an hour for a table on Wednesdays. Their wings are fantastic!” Palotta stated.

It is about a half of a mile away from campus, no more than a 15-minute walk.

Last but not least, Rudy’s Tavern is more of a low-key spot but still serves great quality food.

Although Rudy’s attracts more locals than it does students, it’s still a great place to go if you’re looking for a decent burger and a few drinks with some friends.

“Rudy’s is definitely more laid back than Trackside but around certain times of the year like Homecoming and Springfest is when you will see a lot more people their having a great time,” said Erika Gowe.

Rudy’s, in reference to Trackside, is right down the street therefore it is about a 15-minute walk from campus as well depending where on campus you live.

Wawa, Trackside and Rudy’s are just some but not all of the quality food establishments that are walking distance from campus.

Depending on how far you’re willing to walk, there is also Ichiban, a Japanese and Chinese restaurant about three quarters of a mile away from campus near Walmart.

ESU’s campus is located in a part of town that is not only suitable for students who enjoy walking to places but as well as a safe part of the town.
