ESU’s Women’s Golf team finished second at the ESU Invitational held at beautiful Glen Brook Golf Club last Saturday.

Perennial golf powerhouse Kutztown University placed three golfers in the top three and won the event. Overall, the Golden Bears bested the Warriors by 23 shots.

Alvernia, Marywood and Jefferson were the other teams that competed in the prestigious golf tournament.

The Warriors were led by senior Samantha Miller. She shot a 78 on the par 72 golf course and finished tied for third place. This was the 10th time in her collegiate career that Miller carded a round under 80.

Junior Caterina Daniels had an outstanding round. The Ridgefield, N.J. native made all of Bergen County proud shooting an 84 for eighth place.

Freshman Micaela Crines continued her stellar freshman campaign with an 86 to land in ninth place.

Senior Mackenzie Mathna shot an 88 and finished in a three-way tie for 11th place.

Sophomore Amy Bergquist carded a 92 to finish in another three-way tie for 16th place.

The Women’s Golf team will enjoy some chocolate and glitter before they complete the fall season at the PSAC Championships to be held at the Hershey Country Club over the weekend.
