As the ghouls and goblins gather for the haunting hour, a Spooktacular event was taking place on the ESU campus.
If you were looking for some sweets, not from trick or treating, then you should have stopped down for the Hocus Focus event at the Stroud Lobby. Just in time for the Halloween celebrations, the ESU Career Development Center hosted a stand in the Stroud Hall lobby.
The event lasted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Halloween. The decorations of the stall were very much in tune with the season.
Pumpkins, skeletons and cauldrons were present to frighten the students who would approach the desk.
Tricks and treats was the theme of the event. Students were given ping-pong balls with the goal to throw them into three cauldrons filled with water.
With each cup made, the student earned more and more prizes, which included donuts, candy and cider. Students could partake in a guessing game of candy corn.
The student who comes closest to the correct number of candy corn in the cauldron will win the candy and its container.
The main goal of the Hocus Focus event was to raise awareness of the ESU Career Development Center and its services. Though there was one service that was the spotlight of the afternoon.
“The main focus of the event is asking students to the Career Development Center to be revised.” Said Madison Gorman, the host of the event.
Along with the games and prizes, there were handouts that directed students to seek out the Career Development Center.
“We want students to spice up their resumes. And what better way than with apple cider.” said Gorman.
If you would want to inquire about the services of the Career Development Center, it is located on the 2nd floor of the University Center, open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
