If you are stuck in your dorm or at home and are looking for something to watch in between classes, or you’re just procrastinating, here is a list of new TV shows and movies that may spark your interest.
Netflix has a few good movies and TV shows out right now that are perfect for binge watching.
“Before I Wake”
In this horror movie, a young couple who has recently lost their 7 year old child decides to adopt. After the first night they realize the boy’s dreams are special and come to life as he sleeps. As time progresses, they come to notice that bad things are happening and they need to find a way to control it.
“Black Mirror”
Season four of Black Mirror was just released on Netflix and contains six new episodes. The sci-fi show deals with potential social issues stemming from the evolution of technology. Lovers of the “Twilight Zone” are sure to love this series.
“Dark”
Set in 2019 Germany, a young boy goes missing in a small town and odd things begin to happen. They start to uncover some strange history about the town. This show is similar to another popular Netflix show, “Stranger Things”.
As for what is in theaters, there have been a few good movies that came out recently.
The first, and one of the most well known is “Insidious: The Last Key.” Being the final chapter in the Insidious series, this movie gives a lot of background information on to how Elise began her paranormal investigating, and also opens up a few doors that have been unexplained, while tying together any loose ends from the previous films.
“Jumanji” is still showing in theaters, and takes a new twist on the classic board game and movie franchise we all love. Instead of the game coming to life, the players get sucked into the game but this time in a modern form; a video game. They need to work together if they want to finish the game and escape the jungle.
