Sports return next weekend starting with women’s swimming on Saturday, Feb. 27 followed by softball and baseball games throughout the week.

In the last month our sports teams have been picked high in the preseason polls.

Our teams also face notably difficult schools like West Chester University and Millersville University.

Our women’s lacrosse team ranks number two in the PSAC East preseason polls.

They are behind West Chester, one of the only schools besides ESU expected to contend for both the PSAC and NCAA DII Atlantic Region championships.

West Chester seems to be ESU’s top competitor, being the back-to-back PSAC champion in women’s lacrosse.

We will face off against WCU in lacrosse twice this season on March 23rd, home, and April 17, away.

Our softball team ranks number seven in the PSAC East preseason polls.

West Chester softball team is the overall top competitor, winning their division for the past six years they lead the rankings at number one.

Warriors softball will start their season on March 4.

Our baseball team is ranked number one in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and number two in the PSAC East Preseason Poll.

They had one of the best records in their division last season at 14-1-2.

The season was unfortunately cut short due to the pandemic.

This season they have the potential to win the conference championship for the first time in eight years.

The top competitor for our baseball team is Millersville, appearing close to ESU in both polls.

Our baseball team is expected to play their first game this season Friday, March 5 on ESU’s field.
